Do You Remember The TIME?

Do You Remember The TIME?

The elasticity of time is such a powerful and thought provoking subject that you feel like learning about it for days together. It took me quiet some time to write my thoughts on this enlightening subject.

You must be hearing these statements from a lot of people. In fact, all types of people, right from kids, mothers, working women, businessmen, entrepreneurs, CEOs, professors, students, public servants, IT professionals, bureaucrats and even politicians.

> I don’t have time. I don’t find time. I am running out of time.

> Don’t waste time. Don’t kill time. Time and tide waits for none.

> Is it already June? Last month was pretty quick. Last year finished like a jiffy. Fast times, huh!

> I didn’t know how my daughter grew from 4 to 9. It’s been already 4 years since I moved here. Time really flies.

> We know that TIME is endless, limitless, countless and boundless!

We know that when we stand in a queue, it always appears to us that the other queue(s) tends to move faster. The same is the case with traffic lanes, especially when we are running late to an important meeting. That’s Murphy’s Law right? J. If you know that this is not true, but just a perception, then do you also say that time is just relevant? The clock’s ticking doesn’t change, but the tick in the mind does.

Let’s look at the fascinating Parkinson’s Law in detail:

So what do we learn from this? You are playing with the elements of time so that you are able to do more in less TIME. So, who is responsible here? And why do we blame time for that?

Let me also bring FoMO here. The curious case of Fear of Missing Out! Fear of missing out or FoMO is “a pervasive apprehension that others might be having rewarding experiences from which one is absent”.

Thanks to social media and the digital world that we are living in and more so to continue to live in the future too. Addiction to social media can cause FoMO. That’s because we want to live someone else’s moments and eventually gets into a habit of disliking the way you are living your life; sorry time. But fortunately, like God’s gift to mankind, people are realizing this and getting into PoMO (Pleasure of Missing Out), so that they realize the importance of their life and start living your time.

I am sure the big-boy, Technology, is taking note of this and it would try it’s best to take our time back to it’s fold. And make us slaves again. Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality is taking a big shape and many MNCs are spending billions of dollars. If you think what’s the big deal and why do we need to worry? Well, it’s going to take the ‘today’ from us. It’s going to take the most important essence of life from us and it would replace it with an artificial perceived time capsule. Why do we invent these so-called great things in life? That’s because, we want to beat the philosophy of ‘time’, which is ‘Time is truth; Time is a moment’. We want to prove ourselves that we are no lesser to God Himself and hence like to create replicas of ‘time’. We create replicas of moments so that we can live, re-live those moments again and again at any point in time. I think Christopher Nolan tried showing the same thing in a different way though his master piece ‘Inception’.

How can you compare the enthusiasm and excitement of watching soccer or a football match live to that of highlights? It’s as simple as that. Life is to be lived, not to be duped or copied. Sitting at home using a virtual reality system for seeing the world in pixels, or getting out of the chair and seeing the world in real life?

Can you actually beat the time?

You might have a great time in business compared to your friend for the last 5 years; but your friend might end up living a beautiful life – Who has created better moments in life in this time?

You might have had a bad time yesterday, but today was awesome. Did the time change its behavior? Or, something else did?

Time actually reverses itself from childhood to old age. Just that we only realize that when we become old. We don’t realize the value of good times until we hit the bad ones. But isn’t that the true essence of life? Your own identity? Your Originality?

originality

You might spend good time with your loved ones, even when don’t have money. But when you have money, the same is not guaranteed.

A watermelon tastes better in the summer, but as soon as the monsoon kicks in, the same melon tastes boring. Swimming suddenly becomes scary in winters, which was an awesome fun during summers. So would be the case with many such things, which changes over time.

Ask a sales guy about his or her stories in the reception areas/ lobbies waiting to meet a prospect.

A couple could spend hours with each other before their marriage. Time would be of no relevance to them as they spend hours together. An hour passes by like a second. But after marriage, the same person might start looking at the watch, in case the spouse delays even 5 mins. Even a second appears to be like an hour. It’s the same clock with the same three hands. So what’s really changing?

moments

“Moments”

Yes, I have already told you the answer. We create moments and these moments run our lives. The beauty is that they are as genuine as truth, and once they happen, they are like casted in stone. They are totally yours, and you become theirs. The whole of them is what you are. This is the real gift of God to the mankind. If you want to fudge it, who is the loser? If you change the perception of the very truth, you are defeating the very purpose of your existence. What fun is it to kill your true existence and re-create an artificial one? Ask this to your own self. Ask this a hundred times.

There are time warps; but you need to find one on your way to the Saturn. Else, the best time warp in this world is a perfect sleep. You might want to travel the universe there, but when you wake up, create beautiful moments and reflect on them each day, each time. By the way, who found the answer to life, was it Murph who was living in this world, or Cooper who was going around time warps?

I don’t have time. I don’t find time. I am running out of time – Yet, we manage to do many things in a short time.

Don’t waste time. Don’t kill time. Time and tide waits for none – Yet, we find it difficult to pass time when we are idle.

Is it already June? Last month was pretty quick. Last year finished like a jiffy. Fast times, huh! – Yet we don’t have anything specific to do this month or the year.

I didn’t know how my daughter grew from 4 to 9. It’s been already 4 years since I moved here. Time really flies. – Yet we continue to live our lives without goals and we continue to miss spending time with our loved ones.

Time is endless, limitless, countless and boundless! – Yet time could be captured and controlled. Some of you do, some don’t. Those who understand the elasticity of time, get to tame it. Those who don’t, become victims of it.

“Remember The Time”

Do You Remember
When We Fell In Love
We Were Young
And Innocent Then
Do You Remember
How It All Began
It Just Seemed Like Heaven
So Why Did It End?

Do You Remember
Back In The Fall
We’d Be Together
All Day Long
Do You Remember
Us Holding Hands
In Each Other’s Eyes
We’d Stare
(Tell Me)

Do You Remember The Time
When We Fell In Love
Do You Remember The Time
When We First Met
Do You Remember The Time
When We Fell In Love
Do You Remember The Time

Do You Remember
How We Used To Talk
(Ya Know)
We’d Stay On The Phone
At Night Till Dawn
Do You Remember
All The Things We Said Like
I Love You So
I’ll Never Let You Go

Do You Remember
Back In The Spring
Every Morning Birds Would Sing
Do You Remember
Those Special Times
They’ll Just Go On And On
In The Back Of My Mind

Do You Remember The Time
When We Fell In Love
Do You Remember The Time
When We First Met Girl
Do You Remember The Time
When We Fell In Love
Do You Remember The Time
Those Sweet Memories
Will Always Be Dear To Me
And Girl No Matter What Was Said
I Will Never Forget What We Had
Now Baby
